Limbang - Selasa 29/09/2009. YB Paulus Palu Gumbang dan Isteri telah mengadakan lawatan tidak rasmi beliau ke kampung Pengkalan Jawa untuk meninjau kerosakan rumah mangsa ribut yang melanda sabtu lalu. Turut hadir ialah YB Hasbi Habibollah, diiringi beberapa pegawai daripada Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, cawangan Limbang.

Limbang - Ribut dan angin kencang telah melanda ke semua tempat di kawasan Limbang menyebabkan banyak harta benda dan tanaman musnah. Kejadian Ribut kuat yang berlaku kira-kira pukul 11.00 pagi pada 26 September 2009 telah diklafikasikan sebagai ribut puting beliung. Setakat ini tiada nyawa yang terkorban dilaporkan tetapi beberapa penduduk terpaksa berpindah kerana bumbung rumah mereka ranap dalam kejadian itu.

Di SK Pengkalan jawa, bumbung sebuah bangunan asrama lama juga telah ranap dalam kejadian ribut tersebut. Beberapa kerosakan lain turut dilaporkan dan pihak pegawai pelajaran bahagian Limbang dalam proses meninjau keadaan sekolah SKPJ.

Pelajar 5 sekolah di Sarawak dikhuatiri terlibat

KUCHING 25 Julai - Pelajar dari lima buah sekolah di negeri ini dikhuatiri dijangkiti selesema babi atau influenza A (H1N1), kata Pengarah Pelajaran Negeri Sarawak, Dr. Julaihi Bujang.

Beliau berkata, sekolah terbabit ialah Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Agama Kuching, Matang; SMK Bako, Kuching; SMK Medamit, Limbang;SMK Bakong, Miri dan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Dato Traoh, Samarahan.

"Mereka dipercayai mempunyai simptom jangkitan selesema babi dan Jabatan Kesihatan negeri telah mengambil sampel mereka untuk ujian makmal,'' katanya kepada pemberita di sini hari ini.

Menurut beliau, pihaknya masih menunggu keputusan ujian itu dan sekiranya berlaku kes positif H1N1, pelajar terbabit akan diarahkan menjalani pengawasan rumah.

Julaihi memberitahu, setakat ini, empat buah sekolah telah ditutup tetapi dua daripadanya telah dibuka seperti biasa.

Sekolah yang telah dibuka semula ialah SMK Agama Limbang dan SMK Sains Kuching manakala SMK Patiambun dan SMK Kubong di Limbang akan dibuka pada 29 Julai ini.

Khamis 22 Julai - Wabak selesema A (H1N1) terus menular dengan lima kejadian gugusan kes di Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, Limbang dan Permatang Pauh.

Lapan kes daripada 1,177 pelajar dan kakitangan Kolej Winfield International dan tujuh lagi di kalangan 3,095 pelajar Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia dan Maktab Tentera Diraja (RMC), Sungai Besi - kedua-duanya di Kuala Lumpur.

Tiga kes lagi melibatkan SMK Seremban 2 yang mempunyai 1,276 pelajar dan kakitangan, di samping sepuluh kes di Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Permatang Pauh, Bukit Mertajam yang mempunyai 5,664
pelajar.

Selain itu, sepuluh kes daripada 1,011 pelajar SMK Kubong, Limbang, Sarawak.

Semuanya 38 kes di lima gugusan kejadian wabak itu termasuk dalam 44 kes terbaru yang disahkan hari ini. Selain tiga kes import dari Brunei, tiga lagi kes tempatan dianggap kes tersendiri (sporadic).

"Daripada 44 kes baru ini, hanya dua yang dirawat di hospital dengan rawatan antivirus. Baki kes dirawat sebagai pesakit luar dengan rawatan simptomatik," kata Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican dalam kenyataan media hari ini.

Setakat ini, Malaysia merekodkan 921 kes - 572 kes import dan 349 jangkitan tempatan tanpa sebarang kematian.

Tambahnya, kadar kes kematian influenza A (H1N1) 0.56 peratus atau satu kes kematian bagi tiap 180 kes dan berbanding dengan kadar kematian kes denggi di Malaysia iaitu 0.25 peratus atau satu kes bagi setiap 500 kes.

Seorang pesakit yang dijangkiti virus wabak itu masih dirawat unit rawatan rapi (ICU) Hospital Sungai Buloh tetapi sudah beransur pulih, namun masih belum dibenarkan keluar dari unit berkenaan.

Dr Mohd Ismail berkata, ketika ini terdapat 11 pesakit atau dua peratus sedang menerima rawatan antivirus di hospital, manakala baki 909 pesakit atau 97 peratus telah sembuh.

Empat kes lagi (atau satu peratus) sedang menerima rawatan pesakit luar di rumah masing-masing.
